About Us

Our Story

How do small businesses come up with their company name? In this case it is a vital part of our story. The shop was started as a homegrown business in 1984. Mickey was an avid cross-stitcher and Harry was a tradesman. She stitched her works and he lovingly framed them. A business was born and it was called M&H Wood Studio. In time, it grew beyond the dining room of their home. Moving to Warminster, PA was a big but necessary step for growth. The 1500 square foot storefront also was outgrown and was soon upgraded to 2500 square feet of retail space. The name changed to M&H Custom Framing and Gallery. The new location provided adequate space to display our services as well as all types of art.

Fortunate to have apprenticed under Mickey and Harry, I was able to buy the business in 1998. It has been in existence for over 25 years. Our philosophy has always been to provide our clients the time that they deserve in order to properly benefit the item to be framed.

Taking pride in workmanship and paying close attention to detail allows us to provide many different framing services. M&H welcomes the homemaker, collector, photographer, craftsperson, artist and business person; we welcome all.

What makes a house a home is the people who fill it and the way those people are represented through decor. The same can be said for business surroundings. Artwork, photography, needle art and memorabilia have the capacity of setting tone to the environment. The key to completing that feeling is to frame them properly. Proposals are done with a smile for both residential and commercial clients. Your satisfaction is our best advertising.

Please stop by and visit our gallery and home decor selection, and remember, we’re more than just a frame shop. We’ll give you the time you deserve!

Our Philosophy

“Custom” is the operative word in our business name that also insures quality. We are artists and designers who bring creativity and knowledge to our clients’ framing needs.

It is our philosophy to provide proper care for the item left in our gallery, and to recognize our responsibility to use preservation/conservation framing techniques. Please do not let the terms preservation/conservation be intimidating; we will frame to suit your style and budget. Once your job enters our premises, skilled craftspeople provide great care to see that the final product will be what was envisioned at the design table.

Our mission is to work with honesty, integrity and to educate the consumer about the products used and the manner in which the artwork to be framed will be handled while under our care. M&H Custom Framing and Gallery is a business that caters to the needs of our clients and we look forward to serving you.

Wednesday: 9am-8pm
Saturday: 11am-3pm

What is your turnaround time?
Normally we would like to have a two week time frame, however, we can and do provide same day service.

What kind of frame should I get for my art/document/photo/needlework?
This is the fun part of framing! We will work with you to creatively design the appropriate combination of mat, glass, mount and frame. Modern art tends to be designed with a more sleek concept, whereas traditional art may include more flourishes and detail work in the frame. What is important is to choose a frame that will correctly house the item (i.e. depth of the rabbet and mounting method).

What is archival framing?
M&H offers conservation/preservation framing. This includes correct acid-free matting, substrates and glazing. This type of framing gives your art a longer life.

What type of art do you sell?
Fine art along with limited edition and open edition prints.

May I purchase art online?
Yes. Please go to www.localframer.com/mhcustom, the print can be drop shipped to our gallery and you don’t pay for shipping. You will also receive a coupon for custom framing with M&H.

Is it necessary to use UV glass?
Whether an item was purchased at a flea market for 50 cents or the monetary value is much higher, it deserves to be protected with ultraviolet filtering glazing. M&H Custom Framing and Gallery offers several types of glazing, both acrylic and glass, that have the beauty of UV protection. We highly recommend these products; they work!

Do you offer specials?
Yes. Befriend us on Facebook for more details!

Do you offer home/office consultation?
Our clients can visit us first at the gallery or we can come to you.

Do you pick up/deliver/hang artwork?
